Though many of you have probably noticed the price of copper rise in recent months we are happy to say that we will not be increasing our prices for April. Our buying power and enhancements in productivity have helped us stabilize our prices on cable. In fact, we're offering special pricing this month on several products; read on to get the details on price breaks on Lex Loc, Data Cable, and Multicable! Click here to log-in to our homepage to download your April Pricing.
Lex has switched its standard cable labels to new permanently self-laminating, weatherproof, durable translucent vinyl labels which are wrapped around the cable. These rugged labels are then covered with the clear heat shrink that is included on every cable assembly, providing multi-layer label protection. This new method has several benefits, including:
This seemingly small innovation means that custom labels can now be added to in-stock cables, reducing lead times. On top of quicker turnaround, these new labels can be printed on colored backgrounds and accommodate a wide variety of fonts, graphics, and even bar codes so that rental houses can incorporate their own inventory control markings. Lex’s new custom cable labeling technique might be small, but it is a good reminder of the way that Lex is constantly thinking of ways to create value for its customers and meet and exceed your expectations.
Our XLR Shielded DMX512 Cables are in stock and ready to ship!
Last month we asked you to try and stump us with your own trivia questions and we got back some great answers from readers like JP Gagnon at High Output, Billy Hendricks at Screen Gems Studios, and Andrew Atenzia at FX Production Services. They all stumped or at least partially stumped us. Because we don't have enough room to publish all the great questions we received, we've picked just one for you to answer as this month's Trivia Contest question. It comes from Justin Wardell at DesignLab Chicago: "In 1799 Alessandro Volta invented the modern battery, however the earliest evidence of human application of electricity comes from approximately 250 B.C. The 'Baghdad Batteries' are constructed of a clay pot that held an iron rod that was suspended in an acidic medium. Using this ancient design, modern researchers were able to generate approximately 0.5V using freshly pressed grape juice. The question: What purpose were the 'Baghdad Batteries' used for?"
