A new type of cover solves the problem of handicapped access to facilities where cables are in the path of travel. WASPT (Walkway Access for Special Purposes), designed and manufactured by Peterson Systems, International of Duarte, CA, is the first cable cover meeting the requirements established by the Americans with Disabilities Act. It is cost-efficient and lightweight enough to use in a wide variety of applications, including fairs, sporting events, public buildings and hospitals. Because WASPT exceeds ADA guidelines for slip resistance it is also recommended as a crossing point for heavy carts with small wheels such as food and beverage carts.   WASPT is constructed of urethane material, selected because of abrasion resistance, ability to withstand high impact, and tolerance to most solvents. Standard size is 59" x 40", with custom designs also available. They are internationally recognized blue used in handicapped signage with contrasting white handicapped icon. WASPT is available in custom colors and configurations. Note: The WASPT must be used with the Yellow Jacket or a similar cable protector. It is not intended to be used alone.
